I schools, and underprivileged youths. His financial support
proves nothing can come between a child and his/her desire to
excel in chess. |
Richard Henri's continuous support in weekly
events has tremendously made a lasting impact on the club. He
shows his support with a constant consideration for the well-being
of others. |
Dr. Neil Bershad is always ready to give a
lending hand, whether it is financial or moral support, Neil
makes sure the the club is being maintained properly. |
Yale Warsaw's generosity is a rare kind. His
appreciation for the club brightens any organizers day. He helps
keep the club running when everyone else is busy. His efforts
to welcome new customers and players to the club can always
be seen in different ways. |

| Dr. Richard Martin promotes chess
through the club's scholastic chess programs. At the moment
his contributions to the Scholarship program is assisting some
of the top players in the State! |
Randy Hough: This ever-present national tournament
director is always available to lend his expertise on any chess
matter. His support in promoting Chesspalace has been invaluable.
A warning though, this amiable character is not so affable over
the chess board! |
Joseph Scherzinger's kind heart and friendly
smile always brighten any newcomers welcome at the club. If
you just wish to have a friendly game or the latest chess stories,
you can be sure "Joe" will be the first to volunteer.
His enthusiasm and support of the club are invaluable Chesspalace
assets. |
Patrick Avery's generosity was demonstrated
through a donation of chess books. The revenue for its resale
are helping pay the rising costs of running a low income business
with sky rocketing rental fees typical in Southern Calif. |

RC Rice has contributed to the Chess Palace
long before it the
Ongs took over. His thoughtfulness and advice goes a long way
in keeping the doors open for future players. |
International Master Jack Peters
continues to help promote & inform the public about chess
in his weekly LA Times chess column. For the past two years,
he has visited Cp to give very informative and entertaining
lectures on chess.

Shawn Williams overall support
of the chess club has been going on ever since we can remember.
From being a regular store customer to direct donation of used
books, his contributions keeps our doors open to serve all. |
Russ Ryan's donations has been
of great value to the club. Hopefully in the near future the
actual chess books library will be ready up and running. |

| Mike Henebry, a world record super
marathon runner!, can always be found at the Wednesday Knights
event. Also a board member of the LaPalma chess club, his energy
and spirit in promoting Southern California chess exudes a selfless
devotion to the game. |
Dr. Shreyas Gandhi contributed directly to help the on-going
chess club activities. Mid-year in 2010, an increase in rental
fees threatened the club's ability to keep entry fees low. His
donation made it possible. Also his son, Shyam, is one of the
rising stars that frequents success amongst the best. |
