A total of thirty four students, monsters, superheroes, and princesses participated in this year's event.

In the Pawns Section, Zakary Dossi and Theresa Lo tied for 1st place with a 4-1 score. Following them were Shelley Anthopoulos, Jose Ibarra, and Evan Anthopoulos who tied for 3rd to 5th with 3.0 points. In the celebration of the event, additional awards were also presented by ChessPalace. Kindergartener Carter Clemmensen won the "Best New Player" award.

In the Knights Section, another close finish occurred between Hunter Carr and Shyam Gandhi who tied with 4 points out of 5. Eric Huang and Christina Kao tied for 3rd and 4th place respectively, based on tie-breaks with 3.5 points. Anderson Ju, Ashmit Adarsh, and Douglas Griffin tied for 5th to 7th place. All players who tied for the top five received an award for their performance.

Another strong field of players comprised the Rooks Section. This section continues to present a highly competitive group of students. Topping the field, Christopher Kao and Aaron Ong finished with 4.5 out of 5 points. 3rd Place went to Brett Gonzales. Luis Evaristo, Jesse Koons, and James Kappos finished the field of award winners. Jesse Koons and James Kappos who were qualified to play in the Knights Section, decided to play up in the last minute and did exceptionally well. A special award was presented Luis Evaristo for "Best U1000 Player".
