Vancouvering is perfect in the October Super 2x Quad
The Super 2x Quad awards players based on points, not place finish. Expert Peter Vancouvering completes the event with a perfect 4-0 ousting fellow expert Austin Cambon. Gregory Freeze completed a ChessPalace marathon by playing in ALL seven rated games this week. The mark is held by David Portwood, with 9 rated games!
Freeze finished 3-1 surviving a kingside attack by Yale Warsaw in the finale. Qinhong Chen, Richard Henri, and Jeff Laban each scored 2.5-1.5 to take home a free entry for a regular ChessPalace tournament. A plus score of 2.5/4 guarantees a prize. Players who finish their round early can claim their prize without having to wait around for the other players.
Super 2x Quad gives the lower rated players a shot at the higher quad. Completing a sweep in a quad automatically earns $65 plus a chance at another point and $35 more dollars.
