Gandhi and Chen tie in the Scholastic Class Championship
Shyam Gandhi and Qinhong Chen finished with 4.5/5 to be co-champions. Leo Kamgar finished third with 4/5. Gandhi, Chen, and Kamgar were the top three rated players of the event and all three finished without a loss. The strong field comprised of two 1800s and two 1700s at the top. The open event allowed lower rated players to pair against the top, and some succeeded. Gandhi, Chen, Kamgar, and Noah Daniels (Daniels, the U1600 winner, also tied for 3rd place) will get an invitation to the 2011 Junior Open Championship.
